Deja Vu is only a theory

"Toxin?.."

My vision began to blur slightly, and I shook my head.

"Don't fight it?.. Wha?..."

My eyes narrowed slightly, in an attempt to see clearly. Still being blurry, I reached up under my mask to try and rub them.

"Ah.."

He knew she was fading. He sang a soft song to help ease her until she fell asleep. He couldn't just leave her there, so he took her to his manor to finish her rest.

Dare... C'mon... fight... it......

Out of nowhere a calming voice hit my ears, lulling me into a deep sleep.

Ah...

Waking up, I rubbed my head.

"Where?..."

Staring around at the walls, I noted that I must be in a luxurious place, for the interior was fashioned down to the minor details of designs into the pillars of the building.

Sipping 'wine' at the table, he talked in a quiet voice. He didn't want to startle her. He walked quietly to her and sat beside her.

"This is my home. Its near midnight. And don't worry, you weren't... mistreated."

"Ah... "

Admittedly I was a little confused. Sighing, I shook my head.

"You don't seem like the kind of person.. And I don't think I could offer anything for you to mistreat, regardless."

Curling up, I put my knees to my chest before taking off my gloves. Beneath their cloth, my forme was only outlined in the bright tealish light that was my being.

"You know, you fascinate me. You are an amazing creature."

He was absolutely serious and looked her in the eyes while saying this. She was so bright in his dark little world.

My face heated up, and I stared at him.

"I.. Fascinate you?"

Looking back down at my hands, I was a little surprised.

No one's... Truly said that to me before.

Admittedly, nervousness was not something he was associated with. He always maintained his cool, as he would now. But, he still felt shaky inside. Slowly, he reached for her mask.

"Then they don't see what I do."

I was shocked that he could read my mind, then noticed he was reaching for my mask.

"A-Ah... What are you d-doing?"

Unable to move, I could only watch as his grayish hand reached for what veiled my identity.

"You know, your thoughts are clear in you actions. Always surprised..."

He placed his hand on the mask and began to pull it away. He smiled at her before looking.

Just be calm...

Stunned that he was taking away what hid my identity, I couldn't move. I was frozen. When the ribbons that held my mask to my face fell away, tied to what he now held in his hand, all I could do was stare at him in shock.

"Why?..."

Shaking my head, a small feeling of panic hit me, beginning to rise.

Oh no... He knows... He knows!

Ryan looked at the mask in his hand before looking at her. She seemed... spectral. She was so bright that he couldn't make out any facial features, only the outlines. But that didn't keep him from realising her absolutely beauty. After carefully placing the mask on the bed, he touched his palm to her cheek.

"You are gorgeous..."

My form flared with surprise as I stared at him, and the threads of light that served the equivalent of hair for Sicarians floated around me.

"I-I... W-What?"

I stared wide eyed at him, feeling something deep in me stir.

What is this...?

He took a few deep breaths and allowed his eyes to form a smolder. Her face warmed his hand as she illuminated the entire room. He slowly leaned in, eyes closed and mind open.

My body moved on its own, despite my arguments with it. As he leaned in, I pressed my lips to his. Fire threaded through me, lighting me brighter than normal...

That's when I felt it. His lips were cool, and the air was warm. Being able to have barely sensed these things before, it was a dramatic shock when I could feel his breath on me, hear him, smell him, see him in a different light... shocked, my eyes opened wider.

Eyes still closed, her lips sent shockwaves of heat through his body.

Is that her body... or is it my emotions?

As he opened his eyes, he was obviously surprised. He could see her. Not just that, he could see her skin. He noticed her lack of smell was replaced by an amazing aroma.

"You... you..."

Suddenly, the light that was once my 'hair' solidified into a white color, and dropped down. Having to hold up the sudden weight, I blinked at him.

"What... I..."

My eyes grew wider as I smelled him, dark spices that were once a bare tickle now overwhelmed me, their scent addicting. Looking down at my hands, I saw a color that could only be described as ivory replacing what once was a blue outline.

"This isn't... What? I'm... But..."

Looking up at him, my jaw dropped slightly.

He cut off her words with another kiss. He nuzzled against her and whispered in her ear.

"Don't worry. Its not important. Not right now."

Blushing, I couldn't speak as he kissed me. His touch sent fire though me, making my body react oddly.

I... I don't...

I felt my eyes slightly close, as I kissed back.

After a few moments, he found himself laying face-up in the bed, looking at the ceiling, but staring into nothingness. With her beside him, he didn't know what to think, or say, or even do. He reached out to hold her hand.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Ah.. I'm just trying to figure out what happened...."

The past few moments were a haze- granted, a blissful haze, but a haze nonetheless.

"I went from being Sicarian to... Human?"

He winced as she sounded off sadly. He looked in her eyes with his own saddened. He sighed softly.

"I... think it may have been my fault. I am so sorry."

She doesn't smell human.

"No.. I'm just... Concerned. I guess. Maybe if.."

Looking at my hand, I narrowed my eyes. Concentrating heavily on it, I grinned as it went crystalline- my favorite defense.

"There we go..."

Letting it go back to the soft flesh that I now had, I put my hand back into Ryan's.

He kissed her hand softly after glancing at her.

"Maybe you just look Human? But are still Sicarian?"

He racked his mind for possible answers.

"Perhaps... I know not.."

Curiously, I looked at my index finger- the one that his fang had pierced. A small scar was there, and I smiled.

"Yup... Otherwise this wouldn't be here."
