Deja Vu is only a theory

"An Easel is what you rest your canvas on, to prop it up for art. Ah! Here."

I put the canvas against the wall, angling the stool under it so that it was propped at a decent angle.

"Would you mind sitting in the sill?"

Smiling at him, I motioned for him to sit under the moonlight.

He did as she asked and sat as still as a stone. He didn't blink, or even breath. He waited patiently while looking her in the eye. It gave an excuse to stare.

Blushing from his stare, I began to paint. His skin was a lighter gray in the moonlight, and his hair a gentle white. Moving through the panes of his face, and his clothes, I slowly added more and more detail. From the Sill to the early morning sky, I continued to paint him. He never took his eyes off of me, which made more heat flow to my face each time I looked at him. When I began his eyes, I made sure to make each feature as real as I possibly could.

"Ah... Here."

He took a deep, unnecessary breath. He was scared to see, but he didn't close his eyes. He stood up, walked to her and gazed at the portrait.

That is... me?

He looked at her with uncertainty in his eyes.

"I paint with exact details, I promise."

Smiling, I put his hand on his nose.

"See? Sharp, yet not overly crooked."

I let him trace his strong jaw, and his neck.

"I..."

He found himself feeling his face with his fingertips. Each turn felt like it looked on her painting. Looking her in the eyes, he leaned in quickly and brushed his lips against hers softly.

"Thank you."

Smiling, I held his chin gently.

"A pleasure, you should know."

After a few seconds of plainly looking at her, he found himself laying down in the bed out of pure, agonizing exhaustion. He looked at her with a slight grin.

"I am glad to hear it."

Laying next to him, I brushed my fingers through his hair.

"it's fine."

"I feel really tired now. I think I may be thirsty."

He slowly got up and grabbed his jacket. He looked back at her.

"I need to go find food. I need to... feed."

"Ah... You mean...?"

I let my voice trail off as I thought about him sinking his teeth into someone. I felt a little sad, but a little worried at the same time. Another feeling bubbled in me, and I was slightly hurt.

Dare. Stop that, right now. He has to feed to be healthy, happy, and.. alive? Right?

Trying to satiate the war in my head, I gave Ryan a weak smile and nodded my head.

He squinted his eyes and looked at her curiously. Ryan didnt know how he felt, but he knew he felt a bit guilty. Almost bad in a sense. He couldnt help but ask.

"Whats... wrong?"

"Who, pray tell, would you feed upon? And... I'm not sure myself, just.. The thought of you feeding from someone else gave me some spurt of anger. I apologize, I mean not to anger or frighten you..."

Blushing, I looked down at my hands. The mark on my finger had already scarred over, my healing effectively working its magic. Sighing, I feigned a smile for him.

"But no matter, you do what you must, non?"

"You dont mean...?"

He was curious on what she was implying. He too would feel jealous, but he wouldnt wish pain upon her just for his feedings.

She couldnt mean...

"I have no quarrel with it... If you don't, of course."

Blushing, I turned to eye the dawn light.

I've already been here this long... and.... He gave me a true form... I feel... happy, thanks to Ryan.... I don't want him to have to be that close to another... No... I don't WANT him to be, period... Dare... What are you getting yourself into...

He looked at her with consideration in his eyes. She wanted to be his food source. She wanted to be his life. It was a brave gesture, but he was not quite sure.

"It would hurt you, much more than that small prick did. I'm just not sure..."

"I'd take that over the burning image of you feeding from another."

My face was set in stone, and I let my eyes convey my feelings toward him.

"I care not."

Looking into her solid eyes, he saw how serious she was about this. He could only obey her wish, fore his mouth wouldn't form the word 'No'.

"I will feed from you then, but i will not let it pain you. I will wait a few hours to feed and make a remedy for the pain more suited for the Sicarian race."

She really does care...

"What does that entail?..."

Tilting my head, I looked up at him.

"And will you make it to then?"

"I will make it. It will give the you the feeling that the current one gives humans. You will be slowly sedated. You will be fine after, and very well rested."

He looked at her with his doctorly concerns.

"Honestly, it's up to you. You're the one who needs the feeding..."

Standing up, I walked to him.

Saying not one word, he lowered his eyes before making his way to the laboratory.

Time to make a remedy.

Pausing in place, he thought for a moment before turning back into the doorway.

"Would you like to come with me?"

"I would love to.. I'm curious as to what you'd be doing to make the sedative affect me..."

Ryan thought back to Jamie. He was his beloved younger brother. No older than 17 when Ryan first transformed to a vampire. He was his first feeder. He sapped the blood from him for at least 8 years, slowly growing with him. Every day, he got high off of the sedative. They lived a peaceful life, and it was only because it never harmed him.

He looked at Rae with concern. Could they maintain the same relationship that he did with his brother? Would it also end in tragedy or would he have learned from his mistakes?

"I just dont want you getting hurt. I could never forgive myself if i accidentally hurt you."

"Well, tell me about it. How will it work?"

Curious, I grabbed his hand and waited for him to explain.
