Going Crazy.

Looking down over the city, I frowned. I was on a small rooftop, and stared down at the crowd of people. Too many were at the market making a conglomeration of bodies that was too thick to pass through. Shaking my head, I wondered how the market could be open at this time of the night, and humans not fear an of my kind hunting them.

Idiots..

From the market floor, a deep, hearty laugh boomed throughout the entire city. It was the laugh of none other than Daizaemon Kaze; Or as everyone called him, Muscle Rider. Rider was having a drink with an old friend and the story of the man's genitals stuck in a bottle just made him sob with laughter.

"Frederick, that story gets better every time! Barkeep! Another ale please?"

Nearly falling off of my perch from a boisterous laugh, I snapped my head to the tavern. Having only been here for a week, the laugh was already a regular commotion.

The hell?... Normally towns like this don't accept such churlish behavior...

Hopping down into the crowd silently, I used my Katana's sheathe to make a 'blind stick', and part the crowd. Moving toward the tavern, the only thought in my mind was to find out who the fuck could be so loud that they can be picked out in such a large city.

Rider's laugh echoed through the tavern. He couldn't contain them in his body even if he tried. He scratched his beard and choked on his whiskey due to his chuckles. After coughing, he began to laugh again about his own choking.

"HAHHAHHAHHAH! Frederick, tell Marzi about the goat! Don't be shy! This one is priceless!"

I opened the door to the tavern, and drew the attention of the men. Several went dead silent, except the one at the main stool. slowly walking in, I closed the door behind me.

"Ah... Tender, please bring me some Scotch."

I walked to a table near the loud man, scaring the customers away to make it empty.

Huh. They're already scared of me.

Still laughing, he wiped a joy filled tear from his eyes. Noticing the silence, he turned to the ominous figure in the shape of a woman before him. Still chuckling, he did what Rider always does. His words were slurred from the alcohol.

"You have a nice (hiccup) face. Your eyes... your eyes... Scare me a little though."

"My face is nothing compared to my eyes, which... Are merely white, non?"

I smiled darkly, letting my fangs show proudly.

"Of course... If you want me to hide them, I will. Or I can make it to where you cannot see them, and therefore won't have to worry about them."

When the tender brought me scotch, I nodded my head to him.

"So scared of me... For no reason. Hmph."

I drank the scotch, watching the loud man out of the corners of my eyes. His outline was large, and features obvious.

He chuckled and boasted his roaring laughter. Everything was funny when drunk. He was proof.

"I think you misunderstand little lady. Your eyes are creepy as hell. I had a cat that was blind. He was a real ass. I have no fear of you, or your filthy blood swallowing race. Then again, mine is filthy too! We eat eachother! HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

"Not you who I meant. Look around. Half the patronage of this bar has already left. And yes, I was referring to my eyes. They're outlined in black, only the iris is white of course..."

This fool is beyond wasted... What am I getting myself into?

Flagging the Tender for another scotch, I patiently waited.

"You must be a pretty strong bloodsucker then? Well known around these parts?"

His brow Raised as he looked at her curiously. She could have a lot to offer to him.

"I've only been here for a week, but my reputation precedes me, yes."

Slowly, I stood up glaring at the Tender.

"You're slow on the uptake boy, just bring me the damn bottle."

Snapping my head back at the boisterous man, I raised an eyebrow before putting my tinted glasses on.

"Azumai Yukiyho. Leopard of the white lands, or Wolf of the Badlands. Several others escape me, I think one of them made fun of my blindness."

Shrugging, I took the bottle from the tender and drank it slowly.

He laughed as he chugged his bottle in unison. She seemed tough. Almost as tough as he looked.

"Ha, you still won't scare me lass. But you have the hard as nails attitude that I love. I am Muscle Rider."

I held out my hand for a firm shake, smirking quietly.

"Nice to meet you, Muscle Rider. I'll be honest. I thought you'd be a loud, noisy bastard. Turns out, you are! Just one with a decent attitude."

"Ahaha! I knew I would find an adversary amongst these simple folks."

He leaned close to whisper in her ear.

"Frederick's stories aren't all that great. The funniest part is that he thinks they are"

He began laughing loudly, then shook her hand.

I shook his back, letting my strength show.

"Oui, all of the funnies are in thought, non?"

When I took a swing from the scotch, I realized that I was out.

"Tender, another bottle!"

"You are exactly right. You know, Azumai, we would love to have someone like you in Suibete. Strong, confident, and you can hold your fair share of booze."

He gave her one of his famous Muscle Rider smiles.

"Suibete?"

I raised an eyebrow, before thumb-checking my katana. Seeing an inch of the blade, the bartender shied as far away from me as he could. Running my skin along the flat of the blade as I usually did in thought, I inclined my head.

"As in?..."

"As in world harmony. Our goal is to restore this dimension to it's probably usage. We have too much war, and too little peace. Too much sickness as well. We strive for an equal world. We strive for humanity."

He took another swallow from his mug, with a grimace.

I frowned at him.

"And how would you achieve such a goal?"

I widened my Katana's area for me, prepared for the worst if he threatened my kind.

"In numbers. I can't do it alone. Thats why I need strong adversaries, such as yourself."

He put his drink down. He let out not a single chuckle. He was completely serious as he stroked his beard.

"Explain, if you would, how you would go about and bring peace to the world. I care not whether it burns or flourishes. Appeal your argument to me."

I inclined my head, eyeing him.

What a strange man..

"Through absolute rule, everyone will be equal. Under one ruler who distributes fair life to everyone, no one will be looked down on. And once that ruler dies, maybe the world can truly be balanced. That is true peace, no?"

I hope this appeals to her in the slightest.

"And how would this ruler achieve such a feat? Would they have a counsel, a military leader? Or would they just order their army around? Hm?"

I let him stare into my glasses, before going still. Knowing I would be unseen, I took a moment to think about it.

If he can set it up right... Then perhaps the vampires of this world could learn? And mayhaps there be thralls for us to feed from, once again... And law...

He talked into the nothingness, knowing she was still around somewhere.

"I dont have all the answers yet. It would be impossible to. I just want to live in a world where no race is ridiculed for their birth happenings. I want a perfect world. I know its impossible, but what is impossible other than a challenge?"

"Very well."

Moving quickly, I swung my Katana, slicing through my scotch glass as though it were butter. Setting my blade on the table, I looked up at Muscle Rider.

"You have my blade, and my abilities. Use them well, or your vision of peace will be lost. Take that how you may."

Lifting up the top of my bottle, I took the lower half and used it as a glass.
